PLOVDIV MUNICIPALITY PRESENTED ITS TOURIST PRODUCT IN THESSALONIKI

In November 12-15 2015 the Municipality of Plovdiv took part in the 31-st edition of the International Tourist Market Philoxenia in Thessaloniki, Greece. The main aspects of its participation were making contacts with tour operators and promoting the forthcoming International meetings for tourism in Plovdiv, as well as Plovdiv itself as a destination for cultural destination. 
Over 130 representatives took part in the market, including international participants from Bulgaria, Azerbaijan, Egypt, Slovakia, India, Turkey, Macedonia, Czech Republic and Cyprus.
The Municipality of Plovdiv was presented in its own desk on the stand of the Bulgarian Ministry of Tourism. The main aspects of the presentation were the proclamation of Plovdiv European capital of culture 2019, the possibilities for common tourist products, including holiday tours in Pamporovo, combined with two-night-stays in Plovdiv, as well as combined products for cultural and Spa tourism. 
Plovdiv was attractively presented with traditional Bulgarian dresses and T-shirts with the slogan “Plovdiv 2019”, which caught the attention of the Internet media „Kefaloniatoday“ and an article about Bulgaria and the organizers was published on www.kefaloniatoday.com. The stand of Bulgaria received an award for “An exceptional contribution to the successful conduction of the Market”. 
The Greek market provides a lot of opportunities for development and promotion of the tourist products of Plovdiv, including cultural, shopping, culinary, spa and wine tourism. The stand of Plovdiv was enjoying a huge interest not only from potential partners, but also from the numerous visitors of the tourist market.
