The Polish Theater Company 'Living Space Theater' invites Plovdiv residents and guests to join a series of dance and acting workshops on August 6, 7 and 8. Entry in them gives the participants the opportunity to become part of the "Living Space Theater" entitled "Kaj Dzias", which will be presented on August 9th and 10th as part of the program of Plovdiv - European Capital of Culture 2019.
The workshops are designed for amateurs and professionals, interested in theater, dance, singing, improvisation, voice combining with movement, but above all open to new experiences. No prior experience with theatrical or dance forms is required. They are free of charge and will take place from 16.00 to 19.00 at the Warehouse from 6th to 8th August with pre-registration by email: [email protected].
During the training, director Yakub Margosyyak and choreographers Gheorghe Labuda and Ana Mikula will introduce participants with specifics of the Roma song and dance that will be played in the performance "Kaj Dzias" on August 9th and 10th Post-Cultural Stage at 7pm, "Joakim Gruev" 36.
"Kaj Dzias" is inspired by the culture of Polish Roma. The performance has been present in more than 10 Polish cities. Within an hour, the audience will be able to see a colorful collage of music, songs, dances, and texts for gypsies, combined with performers' stories and travel, an inevitable part of Roma history and life. The music is the work of Isabella Plachta (violin), Cornel Urias (accordion) and Milos Potočni (guitar). Costumes and stage design: Magdalena Pav and Malgorja Chichon.
The show was nominated for the "The Best Off" in the best performance category of independent theaters. Entrance for performances is also free.

"Living Space Theater" is a Polish theater and dance company founded by actors dancers who graduated from the National Theater Academy in Krakow - Acting Masters Department and Dance Theater Department in Bitom (Poland). It is a nomadic theater - no established space, looking for new places and people to work with, focusing on social and environmental issues. The main form of expression is dance and movement as non-verbal forms of communication that help to remove ethnic, cultural and other barriers. Performances are presented both in theatrical as well as in unconventional spaces such as public and post-industrial buildings. The organization's activities are focused on the presentation of their works in Poland and abroad, as well as the organization of a number of workshops for different target groups.
