"CAGED" - contemporary dance
Caged. In fear.
Fear is the poison that storms our minds.
We are afraid of loneliness, old age and death.
We are afraid of being abandoned and hurt.
We are afraid of diseases.
We are afraid of love because sometimes we doubt good intentions, sincerity and dedication.
We are afraid to leave this world without leaving a mark, anonymous, even on our own funerals.
We are afraid of a happy and free life...
Our minds have the power to make our thoughts reality. As long as we live in fear, we forget that this is a state that can be defeated.
Paralyzed by fears, we don’t realize that they are the only overbought between us and happiness. They lock our hearts, cause pain and suffering.
CAGED is not offering a recipe for fighting fears. It illuminates them so that we can meet our own selves through them. It demonstrates the invisible walls we build between ourselves and happiness - the walls that can only be broken by us.

Choreographer
Pansun Kim
The main ideas in Pansun Kim’s work as a choreographer are the subtleties of human interactions, the exchange of energy, the games we play, the intimacy we achieve. As this is his first production with his own company, Pansun is excited to work with some uniquely talented people, who are interested in multidisciplinary collaborations - both on stage and in the stage production. People in the company think of performance as a complete human experience and the boundaries of different arts and skills are intentionally blurred.
Pansun Kim started to dance at the ripe age of 18 when he was a fine arts student at the National University of Artists in Seoul, South Korea. He fell in love with dance as an artform, so he graduated with a degree in contemporary dance.
Pansun Kim first started choreography in Seoul in 2002.
Since then, he has had an illustrious international career as a dancer for various choreographers including Jean-Claude Gallotta, Micha Purucker, Iztok Kovac, Ismael Ivo, Laboratory Dance Project, Mina Yu, Misoon Jeon etc. Currently, he dances with Emanuel Gat and Amala Diano. He has choreographed a number of contemporary dance performances since 2010 internationally.
