Festive Christmas Concert of the "Jarava" Student Formation

The Zarava Student Music Formation is representative of the Paisii Hilendarski University of Plovdiv. The staff consists of students studying Music and Pop and Jazz at the Faculty of Education at the University of Sofia. The famous Bulgarian musician Vladimir Velichkov is their artistic director and mentor.
The students of the Plovdiv University majoring in Music formed the first university group several years ago and have since topped the Top 40 Ethnomusic ETHNOCLOUD, based in Toronto, Canada, representing over 90,000 artists and groups from 151 countries around the world. The ranking is based on views and likes, with the Jar ranked # 1 in the global ranking several times.
The formation bears the name "Jarava" and combines contemporary music with Bulgarian folklore in a light and elegant way so that it encourages the younger generation to return to their roots. With their performances, the boys and girls combine funk, jazz, pop with Bulgarian folk instruments and voices. Kaval, drum, piano, bagpipe and drums enrich modern music, and the voices of the three singers will make you shiver.

BORYANA Female Folk Choir is one of the newest vocal formations in Bulgaria that performs authentic and cultivated folklore. Its founder is the young professor and doctoral student at AMTI “Prof. Assen Diamandiev ”- Plovdiv, Nikolay Gurbanov. A few days ago, the band recorded their first solo album in the studio of Radio Plovdiv, which was presented at a special concert on December 9th on the radio. The repertoire of the Boryana Choir consists of multi-vocal works (6-8 votes) by world-renowned composers such as Krassimir Kurkchiiski, Stefan Mutafchiev, Ivan Spasov, Philip Kutev, Kiril Stefanov.

The Big Band "Plovdiv" was established in 1999. From the very beginning its members include the famous instrumentalists from the group "White, Green, Red" - one of the most successful jazz formations from the recent past.
The orchestra is the traditional music host of the Plovdiv Award Ceremony, which honors outstanding achievements in the field of culture and art. The active activity also includes a number of festival performances - Bansko (2001,2002 and 2005), as well as almost all jazz forums in Bulgaria.
The band's repertoire is extremely wide - from classical jazz to contemporary Latin and pop. Almost all plays are arranged by Nikolay Geshev - conductor of the band. A graduate of the Academy of Music and Dance in his hometown, he is both a trombone player and conductor. The creative biography of Big Band Plovdiv impresses with the joint projects with Kamelia Todorova, Vasil Petrov, Petar Salchev and others. known names.
The concert will feature: Miroslava Todorova, Denitsa Karaslova, Ivana Mutskova, Andreana Bakalova and the stars of the "Slavic Show" - Eli, Vicky and Ivayla and the small singers from the vocal formations of the Art Voyce Center.
