Exhibition "Construction Crafts of Stara Planina" of the Association "Meshtra - Traditional Knowledge and Crafts"

The project "Construction crafts of Stara Planina" of the association "Meshtra - traditional knowledge and crafts", co-financed by NFC to the Ministry of Culture, aims to study the tangible and intangible architectural and construction heritage of the Renaissance in Gabrovo. Thanks to the conducted field research, analysis and documentation of various sites and the connection with local masters, visitors will be able to touch the architectural and construction achievements of the Gabrovo region, presented in an interesting way.

This Bulgarian region is extremely rich in historical and cultural accumulations, but due to the depopulation of the region and a number of other factors, culture and knowledge are threatened with extinction. It is for this reason that the documentation and promotion of traditional construction techniques and the study of the relationship between tangible and intangible cultural heritage are important steps towards the preservation of local traditional architecture. This is part of the process of creating a sense of responsibility, appreciation and respect for the legacy left by our ancestors.
Welcome from 1 to 14 July 2020 at the Regional Ethnographic Museum - Plovdiv to get acquainted with the traditional architectural practices of the Renaissance.
