Austrian cultural pavilion "FLUCA" - full program
Fluca - Austrian Cultural Pavilion is an innovative and long-term project in the field of contemporary art - initiated by the Open Arts Foundation and the Austrian Embassy, Sofia, and supported by the Federal Chancellery of Republic of Austria. In 2020 it is part of the cultural calendar of the Municipality of Plovdiv.
At the end of June, Fluca - Austrian Cultural Pavilion takes its traditional place at 38 Otets Paisiy Street in Plovdiv, ready to open the 2020 season, which, although shortened due to the pandemic, plans to implement part of its planned program by October 2020. Curator of the program of the pavilion for this year is Sariev Gallery.
Fluca - Austrian Cultural Pavilion is an open stage for art and culture, located in the middle of an artistic micro climate created at the end of Otets Paisiy Street in Plovdiv, part of the white cube of Sariev Gallery, the meeting place artnewscafé and the office of the Open Foundation Arts. An element that accompanies the stage of the shiny cargo pavilion are the iconic city furniture "Enzi" from the famous museum district of Vienna.
Preliminary opening of the 2020 season is on June 21 at 14:00
For its preliminary opening on June 21, the stage of Fluca - Austrian Cultural Pavilion will present a special visual project of Plovdiv artists - Martina Vacheva, Mitch Brezunek and Valko Chobanov. The project will blur the lines between illustration, street art and contemporary art to ask us "What are our plans for summer 2020?".
The event will start in the early afternoon of June 21 at 14:00 h. with a music selection by the independent radio of Plovdiv XRaydio on the occasion of his 9th birthday. The music selection is entrusted to DJs: Joobba, TapWater, Captain Collision.
The official opening of Fluca will be on June 29 with the exhibition of the Austrian author Florian Lang, which will continue the theme of the utopian vacation. The exhibition is a continuation of the series "Incubator", which through seemingly beautiful landscapes and lifestyle scenes, explores the motive for the illusions we create among ourselves.
After the opening, the exhibition will be stay until July 31 during Fluca's working hours every day from Tuesday to Saturday from 16.00 to 20.00 h. (4 to 8 pm).
In August, the Fluca stage will be presented by Tatiana Daneberg in collaboration with the LambdaLambdaLambda Gallery, Pristina.
The exhibition of the young Austrian author will invite the audience not only to observe, but also to actively participate, raising the curtain between our imaginary world and the reality around us.
The program will be in September and October and will end with a large exhibition of young authors from Plovdiv and Bulgaria as a whole, which will occupy the space of Fluca, but will be deployed in other urban spaces.
