Opera Plovdiv with a free program at the Roman Stadium at the weekend

Screenings of films for Opera Open, presentation of the awards of the Encho Keryazov Foundation and a flash mob of surprises from the ballet open the summer season

Opera Plovdiv starts the summer season with a series of free events at the Roman Stadium this weekend. On Friday and Saturday, the most exciting moments of the Opera Open festival will be screened in the open air, as well as some of the iconic titles in the Opera's repertoire, captured in the documentaries from the series "Opera with BNT 2" by Desislava Shishmanova. The initiative will warm up the audience for the start of OPERA OPEN 2020, which is a week later.

PROGRAM:

3 July 2020, 21:00 h.(9 pm)- screening of a selection of the best of the repertoire of Opera Plovdiv
4 July 2020, 21:00 h. - screenings of films dedicated to the iconic 2019 titles - "Orpheus and Eurydice" and "Maria from Buenos Aires".

On Saturday at 19:00 h.(7 pm) Plovdiv Opera will be the proud host of the official award ceremony of the Encho Keryazov Foundation, which will also be held in the unique atmosphere of the Roman Stadium. The musicians and artists of the Opera have prepared a stylish program with the participation of sopranos Evgenia Ralcheva and Svetlana Ivanova, Plovdiv young talents Boris Bikov and Georgi Grozev - winners of the Encho Keryazov Foundation and Julia Yordanova - Kerana, who impressed the audience with her exceptional incarnation in the role of Evita in the eponymous Lover. The loudest and funniest group of the Opera Orchestra - that of wind instruments, will fill the audience with mood during the awarding of the young hopes of education, culture and art. Hosts of the ceremony are Lili Barzeva and singer Orlin Pavlov. The screenings and the Ceremony will be accompanied by a flash mob of surprises from the ballet troupe of Opera Plovdiv.

Admission for the event is free until 50% of the seating capacity at the Roman Stadium is full.
