SEASON 12

Without an idea of ​​any retreat from our cause - ON THE CONTRARY, the circumstances surrounding the dates of the first two concerts of season 12 on the Plovdiv Chamber Stage platform require the following changes:
· The host of the events will be Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts "Prof. Asen Diamandiev ”- Plovdiv. Thanks to the management for the opportunity!
· Start time 20.00 h.

· With the special participation of Denitsa Dimitrova - harp.

On April 8 at 20.00 h. on the stage of Academy will meet several generations of contemporary classical artists in the unusual combination of harp, viola and flute.

The three instrumentalists have performed extensively at a number of festivals in Europe, Japan, China and the United States.
For the first time the trio gathers in a joint project to open the twelfth season with a concert from the Plovdiv Chamber Stage platform. The interesting and rich overtone potential of the instruments will be multiplied in an original sound resonance, which combines the legacy of the European impressionist music of Debussy and Iber with works by contemporary authors. World premieres in the program are the works of the Bulgarian composer Velislav Zaimov - Sonata for flute and viola (2020) and Wilfred Westerlink - Duo for viola and flute. During the performance of the Quartet for flute, viola, harp and harpsichord by Velislav Zaimov, the musicians will partner with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Velislava Karagenova - teacher of piano and harpsichord at AMTII "Prof. Asen Diamandiev ”- Plovdiv.

On April 9 at 20.00 h. on the same stage in an improvisational spirit will meet the ideas of:

The duo was formed in the summer of 2019, when the two received an unplanned opportunity for a joint concert. The result of the unexpected musical collaboration turned out to be interesting both for the audience and for themselves. "A close meeting of two worlds" in the words of Berten, who is among the prominent classical musicians who know how and do not bother to improvise. This type of making music offers him the opportunity to apply his extremely rich palette of means of expression and remarkable mastery of the flute instrument. For Zhivko Bratanov, well known to the Plovdiv audience, improvised music is a major field of search and a platform for musical communication.

The concerts are realized in collaboration with the International Youth Festival "Crossroads" - Academy of Music, Dance and Fine Arts "Prof. Asen Diamandiev ”- Plovdiv.

Plovdiv Chamber Scene - Season 12 is supported by the Municipality of Plovdiv and is part of the Cultural Calendar of the city for 2021.
