International Festival of Poetry "Orpheus - Plovdiv" 2021
12 poets from 10 countries in the fourth "Orpheus - Plovdiv" 2021
The fourth edition of the International Festival of Poetry "ORPHEUS - PLOVDIV" 2021 will be held from 13 to 15 May in the Small Basilica of Plovdiv.
It involves 12 authors from 9 countries: USA, India, Spain, Israel, Morocco, Romania, Moldova, Northern Macedonia, Albania and Bulgaria.
The multilingual website of the festival www.orpheus-plovdiv.eu has already been updated with the works of almost all participants in this year's edition. They are published in their native language and translated into Bulgarian and English. On the site the Program is publihed for all events in this year's "Orpheus - Plovdiv" 2021 .
Due to the situation with the global pandemic of COVID-19, the organizers of the Plovdiv LIK Foundation are preparing for the second year a live broadcast of the two main festival events - the opening ceremony on May 13 at 6 pm in the Small Basilica of Plovdiv, and the award ceremony and final reading on May 14 at the same time. The events will be available to be watched live streaming due to the limited number of places due to the pandemic.
The International Festival of Poetry “ORPHEUS” – PLOVDIV 2021 is a project of Plovdiv LIK Foundation is implemented with the financial support of the Municipality of Plovdiv. The fourth edition of the festival gathers in Plovdiv 55 poets from 20 countries. The project is a part of the Cultural Calendar of the Municipality of Plovdiv for 2021.

Small early Christian basilica, 31-33 Knyaginya Maria-Luiza Blvd.
18:00 - Opening of the festival. Presentation of the guests and the hosts with poetic reading. 13 poets from 10 countries read in 10 languages and translated into Bulgarian. Admission is free.
19:00 - Promotion of the poetry collection "Orpheus Songs and Other Poems" by Hava Pinhas-Cohen with the special participation of the author from Israel. Moderator - Dr. Anton Baev. Admission is free.

17.00 - 18.00 - Writers' forum on the topic "The figure of Orpheus - between myth and moment". Meeting of the writer Georgi Gospodinov with students, pupils and writers from Plovdiv. Moderator - Assoc. Prof. Dr. Elka Dimitrova. Admission is free.
18.00 - 20.00 - Poetic reading in the Small Early Christian Basilica. Award ceremony:
The Grand Orpheus Prize for Outstanding Contribution to Poetry. Orpheus Award for overall performance. Orpheus Lyre Award for a poem from the readings. In the Footsteps of Orpheus Award for Best Essay in the Writers' Forum. Admission is free.
