SOMETHING TASTY IS COMING IN PLOVDIV -
WINE AND GOURMET FESTIVAL

We are on the threshold of the wonderful month of May, waiting for the event that will remind us and provide an opportunity to once again share pleasant emotions with family and friends!

For the seventh time in a row - Wine and Gourmet Festival on May 8 and 9.

The old town of Plovdiv will once again host the "best combination of wine and food". The wonderful Bulgarian wines and delicious delicacies await their lovers!

The festival surprises with a record number of participants. Winemakers and food producers will be waiting for you with exquisite combinations of specialties only for festival visitors. And all this will be garnished with that unique taste that can be felt only here, in the shady courtyards of the Revival houses. In 10 of them will be located all 39 participants, of which winemakers - 27, producers of food and accessories - 12. The event is a great occasion for a pleasant weekend walk, where you and friends will share a sweet conversation with a glass of good wine and irresistible delicacies. The old town awaits you for a different and fun wine weekend.

The event provides a unique opportunity - to taste over 200 types of wine. Traditionally, this will be done with tokens of BGN 0.75. Connoisseurs are provided with glass branded glasses for tastings, which will give you the feeling of true professionals. Tokens, branded glasses, tasting set can be purchased in front of any location. And to feel the taste of the tasted wines, we recommend combining them with suitable gourmet products, which will also be available at affordable prices.

A tasting commission of specialists will determine the prizes in the competition "The best combination of wine and food". The competition is organized jointly with the University of Food Technology.

As every year, now the guests of the festival will be able to vote for their favorite wines. By filling in the questionnaires, the "Audience Favorite" will be determined in the 4 categories of wines: red, white, rosé and fruity. The draw will determine which of the visitors, who have filled in questionnaires, will receive a bottle of quality wine.

The official opening will be on Saturday, May 8 at 11 am, at the beginning of the Old Town, 2-4 Saborna Street, which will start the tastings from 11:00 to 19:00, and on Sunday from 11:00 to 18:00

A pleasant surprise is this year's festival program. It has been renovated and the highlights are "Matinee with "Wine and Gourmet", the dance challenge "Jerusalem", the specially organized walk around "Wine and Gourmet", the fun game "Don't be angry / wine / man", Wine & Music Fashion Show, especially attention is paid to events related to Mavruda.

The "mobile photo corner" will go around all locations and streets in the Old Town. Everyone who has been photographed in the framework of the festival and uploaded the photo on Instagram, participates in the game "Photo for memory". There will be a surprise prize for the photo that gathered the most likes by the end of the tastings on Sunday, May 9.

The "Wine and Gourmet" Festival will be held in strict compliance with all anti-epidemic measures. Disinfectants will be placed in front of each location. Information boards will remind of the introduced measures. Information about this is also included in the printed brochures of the event. We appeal to the festival visitors to wear their personal protective masks and to take them off only during tasting and eating, not to gather in large groups and to move only in the company of their closest friends or family.

The organizers of the festival are "Tourism Council - Plovdiv" and the Municipality of Plovdiv with the active cooperation of Municipal Institute "Ancient Plovdiv", University of Food Technology and all partners participating in the wine festival and institutions related to culture and art in the city.

The event is funded by the Annual Program for Tourism Development of the Municipality of Plovdiv for 2021.
