SPRING CRAFTS FAIR - 2021 AND PLEIN AIR "WEAVING BELTS ON BARK"

Regional Chamber of Crafts - Plovdiv invites Plovdiv residents and guests of the city to the traditional Spring Crafts Fair - Plein Air "Weaving belts on bark" from 20 to 23 May.

The opening is on 20.05.2021, Thursday, from 11.30 h. on the Roman Stadium Square with a music program and presentation of certificates to the first class of the School of Crafts for Children in "Ancient Plovdiv" 2021.

Residents and guests of the city of Plovdiv can visit the event from 20.05.2021 to 23.05.2021 on Rayko Daskalov Street, every day from 10.00 h. to 19.00 h., where they will see products and demonstrations of 50 masters and journeymen from the following crafts: woodcarving, jewelry making with various techniques, including bones, artistic woodworking, leather goods, felting, knife making, candle casting, artistic ceramics, vat casting, production of artistic fabrics, artistic knitting, Bulgarian folk musical instruments, furriery, hat-making, pottery, etc.

The focus of this edition is the endangered craft "Weaving belts on bark", which is practiced by very few master craftsmen.

Plein air "Weaving on bark"
From 20.05.2021 to 23.05.2021, every day from 10.00 h. to 17.00 h. in front of the Bulgarian National Bank (Rayko Daskalov Street). Participants: Marieta Nedkova, Marieta Ivanova, Sofka Dimitrova, Tatiana Koleva and Ivaylo Nikiforov, who will compete their skills in the craft. On May 23 at 15.00 h., a jury will announce the winner of the master race.
