WITH A CONCERT AT THE ANCIENT THEATRE "LYUBEN KARAVELOV" high school GATHERS THE GUARDIANS OF FOLKLORE WITH A MESSAGE TO OVERCOME THE COVID CRISIS

Lyuben Karavelov High School revives the spirit of the folklore tradition with a concert dedicated to overcoming the isolation generated by the Covid crisis. The concert "Guardians of Folklore" will take place on May 10 at the Ancient Theatre - Plovdiv, on the eve of when we honour the educators Cyril and Methodius. The entrance is by invitation in order to comply with all anti-epidemic measures.

"Guardians of Folklore" is a project that receives support under the program "Legacy II" of the European Capital of Culture and has as its main goal to remind viewers of the Bulgarian and ancient traditions that have preserved us over the centuries. The engine of the initiative is the school ensemble "Thracian Youth", which is joined by the doyens of FA "Trakia", ensemble "Bulgare" and the Academy of Music and Dance "Prof. Asen Diamandiev.

The school says that it is no coincidence that they chose a place for their first gathering to be the Ancient Theatre, as the concert will be recorded and subsequently the video will travel to all Bulgarian cultural institutes around the world as an ambassador of the city and the school with 85 years of history and traditions and folklore.

As part of this project, "Lyuben Karavelov" high school plans an online section that will enable thousands of viewers around the world to become involved in the performances of the guardians of folklore traditions in Plovdiv.
