The 20th anniversary edition of the National Plein Air "Tradition, Ecology, Creativity" in the Old Town has started

The most prominent students, with talent in the field of fine arts and their teachers, from all over the country, come to Plovdiv for the realization of the 20th National Plein Air "Tradition, Ecology, Creativity". For the first time the plein air is held at High School "St. St. Cyril and Methodius ”- Plovdiv in 1996, and later became national, as it is included in the National Calendar of events in the interests of children and students of the Ministry of Education and Science. Since then, many talents from the country and abroad take part in it every year. In 2019, the National Plein Air is included in the official program of "Plovdiv 2019 - European Capital of Culture".

The plein air opens on 9 May at 14:30 h. in Balabanov's house, and on 10 May and 11 May in the beautiful courtyards and streets the participants will recreate the beauty of Old Plovdiv, as well as other emblematic places in the city under the hills. On the last day an exhibition is organized, which is judged by prominent Plovdiv artists and teachers - the awarded works are awarded by age groups. Many special prizes are awarded by sponsors and organizers, among which are the Society of Plovdiv Artists, Bulecopack AD and TAFprint AD. For several years now, the National Drawing Competition "Tradition, Ecology, Creativity" has been organized at the National Plein Air. The exhibition from it is exhibited along with the works from the plein air and this is to be realized in Balabanov house. High School "St. St. Cyril and Methodius ”- Plovdiv as the main organizer has partners - the Municipality of Plovdiv, “West” District of Municipality of PLovdiv and the Municipal Institute "Ancient Plovdiv". The events are realized in compliance with the current anti-epidemic measures in the country.
