170 years of the first celebration in Plovdiv of St. St. Cyril and Methodius
The mission of the Municipal Institute "Ancient Plovdiv" is to preserve the immovable cultural and historical heritage, to preserve the memory and to promote significant events that mark the historiography of Plovdiv and Bulgaria. In this regard, on 11 May 2021, in partnership with High School "St. St. Cyril and Methodius” and Radoslav Parvanov, author of the national project “I am a Bulgarian!”, with the support of the Municipality of Plovdiv, we organize a celebration to focus public attention on the remarkable 170th anniversary of the first, realized in Plovdiv, on the idea of the prominent public figure Nayden Gerov, celebration of the Work of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius.
The program is implemented with the support of the Municipality of Plovdiv and the "West" District of the Municipality of Plovdiv.
Programme
10:00 - 10:10 - start of the festivities with a short dance folklore program on 1 Stefan Stambolov Square (area next to the fountain in front of the Municipality of Plovdiv)
10:10 - 10:30 - beginning of a procession led by a representative cheerleading team at High School "St. St. Cyril and Methodius” (from Stefan Stambolov Square to Saborna Street)
10:30 - 11:00 - laying flowers on the memorial plaque in celebration of the work of the Holy Brothers Cyril and Methodius (Saborna Street)
11:30 - 12:30 - festive concert - performance "Bulgarian roots" performed by students of the profession "Dancer", specialty "Bulgarian Dances" at High School "St. St. Cyril and Methodius ”(Roman Stadium)
12:30 - 13:30 - procession from the Roman Stadium to Balabanov House and presentation of the National Project "I am a Bulgarian!" - Premiere for Bulgaria of the 3rd edition
18:00 - 19:00 - festive concert with the participation of the Plovdiv Boys' Choir "Stefka Blagoeva" at CPLR ODK - Plovdiv, official opening of the exhibition and the premiere of the documentary for the National Project "I am Bulgarian!" - premiere for Bulgaria of the 3rd edition (Balabanov house)
