Action I

Deep in the woods. A meadow surrounded by centuries-old trees rustling in the wind. A clear stream rumbled across the meadow. A shepherd has fertilized his flock under the thick shadows of the trees and is lying down. The sun is scorching and the air is shivering from the summer heat. Suddenly everything seems to fade. Somewhere in the distance, as if from under the ground, enchanting voices are heard singing a magical song. The shepherd wakes up and sees a wonderful picture:

The wood nymphs, with white robes and pretty wreaths on their heads, play a mystical dance. With laughter and jokes, they decide to bathe in the stream. They take off their wreaths and enter the water. The shepherd sneaks in and grabs the crown of the most beautiful nymph. Everyone runs away, but she stays because the fairy power has been taken away from her. She begins to beg him to return her wreath, but he is captivated by the beauty and does not give up, takes her home and marries her. They have a big and rich wedding. They live happily until the next year, when their child is born. At the baptism, the godfather wants to see the bride playing nymphic dance. Then the shepherd is forced to return the crown to his bride. She flirts and in the whirlwind of her dance grabs her child and disappears. Everyone is amazed by the outcome of this event.

Act II

The shepherd goes to look for her. He goes through the deep forest to the fairy stream and on his way he meets a deer that has entangled its horns in the branches of a tree. The shepherd releases him in cold blood. The deer realizing that he is looking for his beloved and the child puts him on his back and they go together to the fairy kingdom. Soon they arrive and they see that there all the fairies play and have fun, but only one of them is breastfeeding. This is his beloved bride. He immediately went to her, and she was so happy that he found her again. He immediately takes their child and her wreath and they head home, where they live happily ever after.
