DAY OF THE SAINTS CYRIL AND METHODIUS, THE BULGARIAN ALPHABET, ENLIGHTENMENT AND CULTURE, AND OF THE SLAVONIC LITERATURE

May 24 (Monday)

9.30 - 10.00 h. Festive liturgy in the church "St. St. Cyril and Methodius”, celebrated by His Eminence Metropolitan Nikolay of Plovdiv in the presence of the District Governor, the Chairman of the Municipal Council - Plovdiv, the Mayor of Plovdiv Municipality, other officials and guests;

10.00 h. The doors of the temple open to the square in front of GHP "St. St. Cyril and St. Methodius ”are addressed by officials and guests, priests;

10.05 h. Festive speech of the Mayor of Plovdiv Municipality Mr. Zdravko Dimitrov.

10.10 h. Festive speech of the Head of RWU - Plovdiv Mrs. Ivanka Kirkova;

10.15 h. Festive prayer service, served by His Eminence Metropolitan Nikolay of Plovdiv;

10.20 h. Laying wreaths and flowers in front of the monument of the Slavic equal apostles;

10.30 h. am Beginning of the procession to Stefan Stambolov Square.

13.00 h. The management of the Intercontinental ART Foundation HEM invites to the grand opening of the monument of Prof. Kiril Dzhenev.
The monument will be unveiled by the Mayor of Plovdiv Zdravko Dimitrov.
The event will take place in front of the building of the ensemble "Trakia" at 1 A Dame Gruev Str.

17.00 h. Festive concert with performances of gifted children from the Community Centre "Tsar Boris III and Tsaritsa Yoanna", graduates of the music school "Art Voice Center", Guitar Ensemble "Academica" and soloists of AMTII "Assen Diamandiev" - Plovdiv

Community Centre "Tsar Boris III and Tsaritsa Yoanna" will present its music school with the classical performances of its talented students: Boris Dyulgerov, Gergana Kostadinova, Elena Bubarova, Snezhana Kisova, Stilian Manev and Silvia Veselinova. The program includes performances by Liszt, Rachmaninoff, Chopin, Kabalevsky, Clements and others. The secretary of the Centre is Mrs. Daniela Zhelyazkova, and the music pedagogue is Mrs. Rositsa Grozdanova.

The guitar ensemble "Academica" at AMTII "Asen Diamandiev" - Plovdiv will also take part in the concert. The repertoire of "Academica" is diverse. The musicians will present works by Bulgarian authors dedicated to the ensemble, samples of world classics (arranged for the ensemble), contemporary pieces, premiered in Bulgaria and others.

Art Voice Center Music School with chief vocal pedagogue Rumyana Ivanova participates with a rich program and attractive performances of some of her most outstanding talents, including Denitsa Karaslavova, Dimi and the famous from the national air through the format "New Star" Ivayla Terzieva, Victoria Dimova and Elena Vasileva.

19.00 h. Concert of Kalin Velov and TUMBAITO
Kalin Velov and TUMBAITO present the "Golden Bulgarian hits of the 60's and 70's".
The favorite hits from the most romantic period of the Bulgarian hit music will be performed in colorful Latin arrangements by the most popular Bulgarian Latin band TUMBAITO and its leader Kalin Velov.
