Concert "100 years of Piazzolla" in Plovdiv - the first event in Bulgaria on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the composer

KKcompany and the Municipality of Plovdiv invite Plovdiv residents and guests to a special concert, the title of which says it all - "100 years of Piazzolla". This is the first event in Bulgaria on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the birth of the composer Astor Piazzolla, who changed Tango.

The event is tomorrow, 20 May 2021, Thursday, at 6.30 pm in the Ethnographic Museum in Plovdiv and the admission is free!

On 11 March 1921 Argentine bandoneonist and composer Astor Piazzolla (1921-1992) was born in Mar del Plata. A century later, the performance of the music of the Maestro, which caused a revolution in tango, does not stop on the world stage, and the nostalgic sound of his bandoneon ignites the passion of the dancers and captivates the listeners in their places.

The 11th March marks exactly 100 years since the birth of Astor Piazzolla - the man we always associate with tango, who with the bandoneon and his compositions raised this music to heights - from the street it "entered" the concert halls and began to be perceived equally with the classic. The language of the tango nuevo he created is completely different from the classical form and enriched. Mixing elements of French chanson, a fantastic combination is obtained and his works are a real masterpiece.

Organizers are the Municipality of Plovdiv and Kaloyan Kumanov. The concert is part of the Cultural Calendar of the Municipality of Plovdiv for 2021.
