The most played performance in the history of the Musical Theater "The Phantom of the Opera" is a guest at the Ancient Theater in Plovdiv. The spectacular musical appears on the open stage for the first time. The Gothic story about the misunderstood genius and his beloved will come to life on July 5 (from 21:00 h.) and on September 5 (from 20:00 h.) among the natural decor of the Ancient Theater in Plovdiv. Don't miss an exceptional experience - the masterpiece of Andrew Lloyd Webber, performed live by the soloists, ballet and orchestra of the Musical Theater. The troupe of the theater has created traditions in the genre in our country and has staged most of Weber's musicals in Bulgaria.
"The Phantom of the Opera" is a neo-Gothic romantic story that takes us to the stage of the Paris Opera in the 19th century. The young soprano Christine becomes the object of the deep feelings of a mystical hero living in a secret labyrinth under the same building. The genius hidden behind a mask lives in complete isolation from the world and invisibly leads life in the Parisian music monastery. The eternal battle between talent and mediocrity becomes a major thread in this deep and "ghostly" impactful story.
After more than 30 years on over 160 stages around the world and over 70 prestigious awards, of which 21 "Grammys" - an unsurpassed record and so far - "The Phantom of the Opera" won the hearts of the demanding Bulgarian audience.
