The most important LAIBACH show in Bulgaria is coming up! Slovenian music and interactive group will present a conceptual performance 17 September 2022 (Saturday) at the Ancient Theater, Plovdiv!

Together with them, the Orchestra and Choirs of the Plovdiv State Opera, conducted by Konstantin Dobroykov, will join the performance.

The LAIBACH concert in Plovdiv will be unique and unrepeatable, it will not be part of a tour program, it will be something specially created and presented only once. LAIBACH is a culture built for four decades, in which the audience thinks, dances and marches together with the group and the big question is - how will these art conceptualists weave the atmosphere of the Ancient Theater into their performance!

LAIBACH's past hides many special and unforgettable performances - in August 2015 they became one of the first bands in the West to play in North Korea, the event and the whole visit is documented in the movie Liberation Day. Those who have been following the group for decades now have only one question - what are LAIBACH preparing for Plovdiv? Undoubtedly, they will use the stage in the Old Town to make another historic stage appearance! So far, we know that LAIBACH will adapt and transform the Ancient Theater through an exclusive mapping show, specially prepared for the architecture of the theater!

This will not be a concert in a hall, but an inclusion of a historical space to the concept of a world art class artist, with a style that contains multidisciplinary practices - from popular to high culture, encompassing powerful references to art history - from classical and avant-garde to socialist realism and pop art!

LAIBACH are a cult that has built a style of followers throughout Europe. They proclaimed themselves "engineers of the human soul". Their militaristic style, propaganda manifestos and totalitarian speeches sparked numerous debates about their true artistic and political credo.

During their 40-year career, LAIBACH, whose members live in Ljubljana, have released almost 40 albums, most of which have been released by the British indie label Mute Records (Depeche Mode, Yazoo, Nick Cave, Goldfrap, Moby, Kraftwerk, New Order, etc.)

"The LAIBACH concert is postponed to 2022.
Dear clients,
On 03.09.2021 at 16:03 h. we received the following message from the organizer of LAIBACH, BLUE HILLS EOOD:
"Laibach's large - scale performance with the Plovdiv State Opera Orchestra and Choir is rescheduled for September 2022.
Due to the new Covid wave, the risk for the artists is significant - in order for the show to take place, the group has to rehearse for four days indoors with more than 80 people in an orchestra and choir, which poses a huge risk for everyone. To ensure the safety of the participants in the concert (about 100 people should come on stage), they must be a meter and a half apart, which completely changes the concept of the show and the mapping performance to it.
The Laibach concert with the Orchestra and Choirs of the Plovdiv State Opera will take place in September 2022, and we will soon announce the exact date and conditions for returning tickets."
