1st edition of the Rose Festival at Hindliyan House

We are pleased to invite you to the first edition of the Rose Festival at Hindliyan House. Built in 1834-35, it is one of the few preserved symmetrical Plovdiv houses. Its owner, Stepan Manuk, is the founder of one of the four wealthiest Armenian families in the city on the hills. He was a famous merchant, whose deals took him all the way to India, hence the nickname Hindliyan. In the spacious hayat, on the second floor of the house, you can see a fountain, from which rose water circulated in the past. The scent of roses in the house is still there today. In order to popularize the pink fountain and to emphasize the emblematic Bulgarian rose, we invite you to a colorful summer holiday on 26-27 June 2021.

Two days after the magic of Midsummer's Day we will offer you an exciting meeting with the cultural heritage and a documentary photo exhibition, with the masters dedicated their lives to the rose and oil-bearing plants, which will delight you with a bazaar and various demonstrations. The programme includes concerts, movies and many surprises.

Everything is under the sign of the ROSE and on the territory of the captivating Hindliyan House.

FIRST DAY 26.06.2021 (SATURDAY)
11 a.m. Procession under an Arch of roses (from the fountain in front of Plovdiv City Hall to Hindlian House), with the participation of Smilyana Zaharieva (the singer with the most powerful voice, registered in the Guinness Book of World Records), the bagpipe orchestra of the Ensemble Epodai and children-members of vocal groups
Around 12 noon -1:00 p.m. arrival at Hindlian House, opening of the forum, opening of a documentary exhibition, a concert, Bright coloured door through time, an open area for photos
12 noon -8:00 p.m. Bazaar of rose product manufacturers, accompanying demonstrations, Hindlian House, courtyard
9:00 p.m. Screening of the film Damascena, Hindlian House, courtyard

SECOND DAY 27.06.2021 (SUNDAY)
