Exhibition of crafts made by people with visual impairments in the Old Town
THE UNION OF BLIND CITIZENS OF BULGARIA - PLOVDIV REGIONAL ORGANIZATION
AND ANCIENT PLOVDIV MUNICIPAL INSTITUTE
have the pleasure to invite you to an exhibition of crafts made by people with visual impairments. The exhibition is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the founding of the Union of Blind Citizens of Bulgaria.
The exhibition will officially begin on July 21 at 17:00 h. in Balabanov House. The exhibition will be opened by Deputy Mayor for Culture, Archaeology and Tourism – Plamen Panov.
It can be seen until 31.07.2021.
In the distant 1921, a group of visually impaired intellectuals founded the Society of the Bulgarian Blind. The organization is developing rapidly, is renamed the Union of Blind Citizens of Bulgaria and has offices in many cities. Throughout its remarkable centuries-old history, the organization has enjoyed great national recognition and has become a factor in creating a more dignified life for people with visual impairments. Many times a partner in their events is the Ancient Plovdiv Municipal Institute. It is a tradition to organize days of creativity for the visually impaired, which started in 2001.
On July 21, Balabanov House will welcome the knitting and pottery products, which are a result of the creative potential and aesthetic sense of people with visual impairments.
"We invite Plovdiv residents and guests to enjoy the works. Our hosting of this event, as well as the interest in the exhibition on your part, is a sign of support for these strong and courageous people. We are expecting you!", shares the Municipal Institute.
Entry to the exhibition is organized in compliance with the current anti-epidemic measures in the country.
